Frequently asked questions

Does Qatar's Labour Law apply to everyone?

Law 14 of 2004 governs private-sector employment. It does not cover government employees, domestic workers or those working in the Qatar Financial Centre, who have separate rules.

Is gratuity reduced if I resign in Qatar?

No. Anyone who resigns after a year of service is owed the same minimum, 21 days of basic pay per year. It is forfeited only on dismissal under one of the Article 61 cases.
