The formula used
Gratuity = 21 days × (basic salary ÷ 30) × years of service, provided one year of service is completed. Allowances are excluded, and a contract may give more. Prefer Arabic? Use the Arabic version.
Frequently asked questions
How much is gratuity for 5 years in Qatar?
105 days of basic salary (21 days per year): a basic salary of QAR 5,000 gives QAR 17,500.
Is gratuity reduced on resignation in Qatar?
No. Article 54 gives the gratuity to anyone who completes a year of service whatever the reason the contract ends, unless dismissed under Article 61.
Is there a cap on gratuity in Qatar?
The law sets no cap, and a contract may give more than three weeks per year.
