The worker must be registered with GOSI before the injury, and the employer must report it within 3 days of being told. Daily allowances must be claimed within a year and other benefits within 5 years. This is an estimate: the disability degree is set by the medical committees, and the official amount is in GOSI's decision. For ordinary sick leave, see the sick leave calculator. Prefer Arabic? Frequently asked questions

How much is work injury compensation under GOSI?

During treatment, a daily allowance of 100% of the daily contributory wage (75% while treated at GOSI's expense); then, by disability degree: a monthly pension of 100% of the average wage for total disability, a proportional pension for 50% or more, and a lump sum of 60 times the partial pension below 50%.

How is compensation for partial disability under 50% calculated?

Degree × average wage gives the notional pension, multiplied by 60. If the injured worker was over 45 on the day of the injury, the multiple falls by one for each extra year, to a minimum of 36. Example: 30% disability, SAR 8,000 wage, age 35 = 2,400 × 60 = SAR 144,000.

Do non-Saudis get work injury compensation?

Yes, as lump sums instead of pensions: 84 times the monthly pension for total disability or death, 60 times for partial disability of 50% or more, and below 50% the same as Saudis.

What wage are work injury benefits based on?

The daily allowance uses the wage of the month before the injury; pensions and lump sums use the average contributory wage of the 3 months before the injury month, capped at SAR 45,000 a month. The branch is funded by a 2% employer contribution.

What do survivors get after a fatal work injury?

A pension based on the total-disability pension (100% of the average): under the old system 50% for one survivor, 75% for two and 100% for three or more, plus a 3-month grant capped at SAR 10,000; under the new system 50% for one and 75% for two or more, with no grant.

Did the compensation caps change in 2024?

Yes. Royal Decree M/273 removed the caps on disability lump sums (SAR 165,000 and 330,000) and raised the reduction age from 40 to 45 even for existing members; some pages still show the old figures.
