The payment rule
- The 1st of each Gregorian month since 1 May 2024 for the civil and military retirement systems and GOSI; civil and military pensions used to be paid on the 25th.
- Friday and Saturday: payment moves to the Thursday before, giving two payments in December 2026 and in April and September 2027.
- Public holidays: payment moves to the last working day before; it is not brought forward just because Eid is near (June 2026 was paid on time after Eid al-Adha).
- SANED: paid with pensions under the same rule.

Frequently asked questions
When is the December 2026 pension paid?
Tuesday 1 December 2026 (21 Jumada al-Akhirah 1448). The January 2027 pension then comes on Thursday 31 December 2026 because 1 January is a Friday, so pensioners get two payments in December.
Is the pension paid on the 25th or the 1st?
On the 1st of each Gregorian month since 1 May 2024 for civil, military and GOSI pensioners, after the dates were unified following the merger of the Public Pension Agency into GOSI. The 25th was the old date for civil and military pensioners.
What if the 1st is a Friday or Saturday?
Payment moves to the Thursday before, and on a public holiday to the last working day before it, under the central bank circular; the May 2026 pension was paid on Thursday 30 April.
