Dates follow the Ministry of Finance rule, with Hijri dates by the Umm al-Qura calendar. The ministry has not published its 2027 calendar yet, so an early payment before Eid could change a date.
How the payday is set
- The 27th of each Gregorian month for all state employees, civil and military, under a royal directive of January 2018. Before that, from October 2016, salaries followed the zodiac (Burj) calendar.
- Friday: payment moves to Thursday the 26th.
- Saturday: payment moves to Sunday the 28th.
- Eid and occasions: no fixed rule; the ministry announces early payment case by case. March 2025 salaries were paid on Tuesday the 25th late in Ramadan, and May 2026 salaries on Sunday the 24th because the 27th was the first day of Eid al-Adha.

Is the salary paid on the 27th Hijri or Gregorian?
Gregorian. A royal directive in January 2018 unified payment on the 27th of each Gregorian month for all state employees; some sites still wrongly say the 27th Hijri.
What if the 27th falls on a weekend?
On a Friday salaries are paid on Thursday the 26th, and on a Saturday on Sunday the 28th, according to the Ministry of Finance. So February, March and November 2027 salaries come on the 28th.
