Example: expected date 10 December 2026, total wage OMR 600.
Starting on the birth date: leave until 17 March 2027, back on 18 March. Allowance 98 × 20 = OMR 1,960, paid by the employer and recovered from the Fund.
Earliest start: 26 November 2026 (14 days before), ending 3 March 2027.
Paternity leave of 7 days by 17 March 2027, and the nursing hour from 18 March 2027 to 17 March 2028.
If the mother dies during the birth or the leave, an insured father receives the rest of the leave, and a foster mother gets up to 98 days if the child is no older than 3 months. If employment ends during the leave, the allowance continues for the rest of it. Omanis who are self-employed, part-time or working abroad are outside the branch.
The calculator applies the same rules to government employees, as the maternity branch covers both sectors. For other leave use the Oman leave calculator.
