The minimum is OMR 115 a month, or the wage if lower, and there is no ceiling on the allowance or on the wage subject to contributions in this branch. An average of OMR 180 gives 115 every month (1,380 a year), and an average of 2,500 gives 1,500, then 1,250, then 1,000 (15,750).

The minimum contribution period is set in the executive regulation, which we could not read; under the 2020 system it was 12 consecutive months for a first claim. Employers must notify the Ministry of Labour before ending an insured person's employment (Article 120). For what you are owed when employment ends, use the Oman end-of-service calculator.
