Worked examples

An expat flat using 1,500 kWh and 20 m³: electricity 1,500 × 0.032 = BD 48, water 20 × 0.775 = 15.500, two fixed fees 2 and wastewater 3.100, a total of BD 68.600.

A citizen's villa (first home) using 5,000 kWh and 60 m³: electricity (3,000 × 0.003) + (2,000 × 0.009) = BD 27, water 1.500 and fixed fees 2, a total of BD 30.500. At 7,500 kWh in summer, electricity becomes BD 75.

On 13 October 2026 Parliament unanimously backed an urgent proposal to restore the previous subsidised tariffs for first homes; it went to the government and has not been adopted. We will update the calculator if the tariff changes.
