Conditions and deductions

The support is for Emiratis aged 18 to 60 who lost a job at a covered private employer or a Central Bank-licensed institution for reasons beyond their control, as the Council determines. You must be able to work and have no source of income. Any income from trade licences or property is deducted, as is any smaller social assistance received by you, your spouse or your child.

Students, those entitled to retirement, national service conscripts and people dismissed for moral reasons or legal violations are excluded, and refusing a suitable job offer ends the right. Some websites mention "12 months within five years", which does not appear on the official page.

Unemployment insurance is a separate federal scheme that pays 60% of the average basic salary of the last 6 months for up to 3 months per claim; see the ILOE calculator. For what your employer owes you, use the final settlement calculator, and for salary support once you are back at work, the Nafis calculator.
