The table is calculated with the same formula as the Saudi water bill calculator: progressive tiers, sewage at half the water price, fixed fees of SAR 20 + 10 for a meter up to 20 mm, then 15% VAT.

Three things the table shows

  1. Fixed fees are most of the bill at low consumption: at 10 m³ they are SAR 30 of SAR 45 before VAT.
  2. Every cubic metre above 45 costs SAR 9 including sewage before VAT, so cutting use above that level saves the most.
  3. The difference grows with consumption, because the first tiers rose more than the others, while the price above 60 m³ stays the same (SAR 9).

Frequently asked questions

What is the new water bill for 30 m³?

About SAR 112.13 including VAT for a meter up to 20 mm and a home connected to sewage: SAR 45 for water, 22.50 for sewage and 30 in fixed fees, plus 15% VAT. At the current tariff it was about SAR 28.46, without any meter fee.

How much water does a home use a month?

It depends on household size and habits; a small family often uses between 15 and 30 m³ a month, and the amount is shown on your bill or in the National Water Company app.

Why does the bill rise so much for low consumption?

Because the new tariff adds fixed fees of SAR 30 a month (20 for water and 10 for sewage) for a meter up to 20 mm, and raises the price of the first 15 m³ from 15 halalas to SAR 1.50 including sewage.
